These things about your enemy are true:
The enemy is resilient and determined; he will fight until the last breath.
The enemy is deceitful; he will blind you with trickery.
The enemy knows your weaknesses; he will take advantage of them.
The enemy knows you better than you know yourself.
The battlefield is the enemy’s home; he knows the terrain and you don’t.
The enemy employs guerrilla tactics; he will do anything to ensure his victory.
The enemy has more soldiers than you.
The enemy has ruled since the day you were born; he’s been building his defenses since then.
The enemy employs spies you may think are your friends.
The enemy will attack you during your weakest moments.
Victory over such an enemy may seem impossible,
but remember your advantages:
“The enemy is resilient and determined; he will fight until the last breath.”
Your determination can be built faster than his.
“The enemy is deceitful; he will blind you with trickery.”
The enemy is incapable of learning new tricks; understand his tactics, they will never change.
“The enemy knows your weaknesses; he will take advantage of them.”
Reinforce your weaknesses; the enemy will not see this happen.
“The enemy knows you better than you know yourself.”
The enemy will not learn as fast as you; he will only know who you were, but never who you are.
“The battlefield is the enemy’s home; he knows the terrain and you don’t.”
You have the ability to study the battlefield from a safe distance.
“The enemy employs guerrilla tactic; he will do anything to ensure his victory.”
The enemy employs guerrilla tactics because he is afraid of you.
“The enemy has more soldiers than you.”
His soldiers are slow and dim-witted; you can outmaneuver and outsmart them.
“The enemy has ruled since the day you were born; he’s been building his defenses since then.”
You can maneuver and attack from the rear.
“The enemy employs spies you may think are your friends.”
His spies will give themselves away if you look hard enough.
“The enemy will attack you during your weakest moments.”
You know exactly when the enemy will attack.

The ememy is indeed powerful, but can be defeated. The enemy can be the self-limiting tapes we hear playing in our heads. It’s time to change out the tapes and replace them with tapes that say you can do anything you choose to do.

John, that’s a great post. You know what that reminds me of? The Art of War by Sun Tzu…that’s how the pages are laid out. Anyway, your post was really vivid, I could see those exact things about the battle between your id and ego or is it ego and superego? whatever who cares great post

Good post! Always good to know your enemy’s strengths and good to concentrate on his weakness.
