Check Out the New Google Adsense Video Units

Google Adsense released video advertising units today, although apparently not on everyone’s Adsense account. There are 3 versions of the video ad units, each one a different size.

It appears that publishers can’t pick which videos are displayed; in fact, so far, the videos I’ve posted on non-public pages to test haven’t even been slightly related to the content on this site. So, I’m not sure if that’ll change with time or not. If not, I can’t see myself using this form of advertising much, if at all. What’s the use of having a bunch of videos here completely unrelated to the site?

Here is a look at the smallest version. YouTube is giving me a server error when I try to build the two others, so I’ll keep at it and keep you updated.

Update: I got the large video unit working. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, you’ll find it in the footer. The medium sized unit is exactly like the small one shown here, just slightly bigger.

I’m getting the same totally unrelated content that you must be getting…Indeed, my two sites with the video player (using separate categories) are showing the same stupid smosh video that is being displayed in your video unit….I wonder how long it’s going to take to get the related content?
